Welcome to the 2023 spring season of Needham Girls Youth Lacrosse.  Your daughter will be on the team Needham 3/4 Blue. My name is Brenden Moyer, and I will be the head coach of the team.  John D'Amelio, Allie Young and Sarah Kirchofer will also be coaching with me.  We’re all very excited for a great season of lacrosse.

ROSTER: You will be able to see our roster and our game schedule by logging into your account on the NGYL website, under the “Team Bulletins & Schedules” select “Choose a team” then “Spring 2023” then “Needham 3/4 Blue.”

PRACTICES & GAMES: We will hold practices on Mondays 6-7:30 and Wednesdays 6-7:30 on Defazio Brock field.  We are waiting on final approval from the Town of Needham but hope to start practices the week of March 26.  Once we have confirmation we will share with the team. Players are expected attend at least one practice a week. Our games are not yet posted on the site, however all games are on Sundays (weather permitting). Games will be played on April 2, 16, 23, 30, May 7, 14, 21 and June 4, with a league-wide jamboree on the June 10/11 weekend at Devens Parade Ground (more jamboree details to come). There are no games on Easter April 9 and Memorial Day Weekend May 28.

We are waiting on the League to determine which sports app will be used and will send out instructions for downloading the app and schedule as soon as it’s available.

EQUIPMENT: Please note required equipment for all players:

• Women’s lacrosse stick
• Mouthguard (note the mouthguard must not be white or clear)
• Lacrosse goggles (please note that only goggles that are SEI certified to the current ASTM standard F3077 are legal for play, and the SEI logo must be printed on the goggles themselves – a listing of current SEI-certified models is available here (you’ll need to expand the US Lacrosse menu, then “Eye and Face Protect (Sports) menu, and click through to the F3077 listing))

UNIFORM: Your daughter’s uniform (shorts and reversible jersey) will be sent directly to your home (our vendor tells us that uniforms should be delivered during the week of March 26).
