posted 10/27/2009 Welcome to the 2010 Needham Girls Lacrosse Season.
We are looking forward to a fun and exciting season. The new board has been working hard on all aspects of our girls experience, with a great emphasis on developing their skills.
High School Coaches Beth O'Brien and Jane Goldstein have been running fall skills on Sunday mornings for the 7th and 8th graders. This has been a great opportunity for these players to work on the fundamentals. Hopefully next year we will be able to build on this for the younger players.
We are going to be adding 2nd grade lacrosse for the youngers girls this spring. This will be a one hour practice/clinic during the week, with the possibility of a few scrimmages at the end of the season.
We are hoping to take advantage of the lights this spring, and host a few night games for the older girls. This is in the beginning stages of planning.
REGISTRATION begins November 1, and will continue until December 31. Please go to www.needhamlacrosse.com to register on line. LATE Registration will be from January 1 until January 15, with a late fee of $50 incurred. We will not be able to take any players after that, as we have to submit players to the US Lacrosse and the Founders League immediately.
The Fee this year will be $190 per player, $100 for the 2nd graders.
Our season begins April 1 and will run through mid June. The Jamboree is currently scheduled for Sunday, June 13. The date for the Player/Parents meeting will be Wednesday March 24, 2010.
The Needham Girls Lacrosse program is a volunteer organization. If you would like to help out in any area, please look at the board of directors on the web site, and you can contact them directly. If you are intersted in helping out on the fields this season, please feel free to contact me directly at

I would like to take the opportunity to thank Carey Stenberg for her wonderful leadership and perserverance in bringing Needham Girls Lacrosse to where it is today. She has created a wonderful organization for your girls. If you see her around town, please be sure to thank her.
Looking forward to a great season. Have the girls practice!!
